A Late Summer Holiday

A Late Summer Holiday

The summer seems to have flown by as usual, this one in particular felt a little different though. I felt like I didn’t get a chance to slow down as much as I wanted to and as I watched everyone take off on their European vacation, the jealousy started settling in. I tried to put that aside as much as possible because to be honest, these past few months I felt really focused on some of my short and long term goals and that is a truly rewarding feeling!

One of the recent goals I tackled was changing my username on Instagram! After seven years of running my instagram under @notyourstandard, I finally took the plunge and switched it to my own personal name. It was not an easy decision and I was really worried if I was making the right choice but so far your reactions have been amazing! Most importantly I will still keep the @notyourstandard name under a different instagram account and I will be sharing something special under it very soon! That was just one of the many things I tried to tackle this summer and after a long day of work a few weeks ago, Guillaume and I sat on our couch and decided it was time for a late summer holiday. We managed to find 5 days that we both had completely free! So I whipped out my long list of places we want to visit and we settled on Sao Lourenco do Barrocal in Portgual. A farm estate that's in the middle of the countryside of Portugal, surrounded by vineyards and olive trees. It felt like the perfect place for us to escape to. I can't wait to share more after our stay, until then this is me officially signing off for a bit.
