Hosting A Holiday Dinner Party

It’s so nice to be back home now until after the holidays! It’s given me a chance to get back into some sense of routine and most importantly spend some quality time with the people I love. This past Friday, my girls and I got together for a night of wine, good food and even better conversation. It’s tough getting five girls who all run their own business together but we manage to do it and all the planning made it so worth it!

I truly love hosting dinner parties, creating an atmosphere where people want to spend the entire night is something I love achieving. There are just a few simple tricks to set the mood but the most important part is to not over stress, create a list of everything you need get done and do as much as you can ahead of time! Also, lose control a bit and give some duties to your friends - for our dinner everyone was in charge of a dish and wine, which left me to focus on decor and a couple dishes, which was truly a life saver!

The main focus was the table scape so I started off with a color palette and chose my florals from there. I always head to the flower market and create my own arrangements, I chose lots of winter whites and greenery, avoiding any flower that looked like summer or spring.  I wanted to make sure it looked very seasonal so I picked up a bunch of ever green leaves to scatter along the centre of the table.

Next, I wanted candles, candles and more candles! They truly set the mood for me, so I chose candles at different heights to pop in and around the floral arrangements.

Lastly, I wanted every girl to have a little treat at their plate when they sat down, so I picked up lipsticks for each place setting! It's little touches like this, that add a little more love into the room!

As you know music is so important to me, especially when their is wine involved. I absolutely love this Jazz Vibes list from Spotify for occasions like this.
