Our Stay At The Surfrider Hotel

July 17, 2019 Malibu, California

Our Stay At The Surf Rider Hotel

I visit LA so many times a year but I rarely make it out to Malibu. This past trip I made a point to make Malibu my first stop before heading back into the city and I’m so glad I did! After a short 30 min ride from LAX airport we pulled up to The Surfrider Hotel, a 1950’s restored hotel that makes you feels like you walked into the dream beach house you’ve always wanted.

This polished 20 room hotel exudes that perfect combination of laid back West coast vibe with luxury tastefulness. They have a variety of rooms, all with balconies and even bigger ones with hammocks! Our favorite space was the rooftop patio where there is the most beautiful view of the ocean, the comfiest lounge furniture and delicious wholesome food. We found ourselves sitting up here for hours talking and sipping rose with the sound of the waves, it's one of those spots you feel at complete ease.

The details of any place will never go unnoticed and I always find them to be the things I remember the most about a hotel. Grown Alchemist toiletries in the bathroom, waffle robes by Parachute, straw beach bags left in your room for your use and complimentary coffee are just a few of the things that make this property special. It's an ideal spot for a quick getaway or staycation if you're local. We also loved the fact that it was walking distance to one of the main plazas in Malibu where there was a Sephora, Whole Foods, Fred Segal, Free People & Sun Life Organics!
