Travel Guide: Hudson, NY

Trave Guide: Hudson, NY

As I mentioned in my last post, we took a few days to escape the city and headed upstate to Hudson, NY. I heard such great things about the food scene in Hudson, I wanted to taste it first hand and get out of the city to shop at local grocery stores, eat at the highly recommended restaurants and justĀ  sign off for a bit. Hudson is pretty much the ideal spot to do that and here are the best places to eat, drink and stay…

EAT:

Lil Deb's Oasis - So many locals recommended this spot, so we knew we HAD to go. Lil Deb's Oasis is a vibrant space with incredible service and delicious food. The menu embodies a tropical Latino influence with bold flavors and lots of fresh seafood. They had some great vegeterian options for me and it was such a good vibe overall, I wish we had gone a few times.

Le Perche - A incredible spot for croissants and french cafe inspired dishes!

Hudson Food Studio - A casual spot with Southeast Asian food, the noodle dishes are delicious and perfect for warming up on a colder day.

The Maker Cafe - We loved this spot for some afternoon drinks and sandwiches!

Aeble - A beautiful space with a menu full of comfort food.

Other notable mentions:
Wm. Farmer & Sons
Swoon Kitchen
Rivertown Lodge

I highly recommend staying in one night and heading to the local gourmet grocery stores to pick up fresh ingredients to make yourself a spread of delicious food!

Gourmet Grocery Stores:

Olde Hudson - A dream grocery store for me! I fall in love with stores that are curated this well, Olde Hudson carries unique food products and fresh produce.

Talbott and Arding- A great spot to grab fresh pastries, quality cheese, homemade spreads or a quick lunch.

DRINK:

BackBar - Small bites, lively atmosphere and great indoor/outdoor space.

Hudson Wine Merchants - An incredible selection of wine to pick up and take home! The staff is so knowledgeable and we found one of our favorite natural wines from Italy there - Menti!

COFFEE:

Supernatural - Definitely the best coffee in town!

Olde Hudson Cafe - Another great spot for coffee and a quick lunch.

STAY:

We stayed at a very cute airbnb called This Old Hudson. A two story house where you can rent the bottom or top separately, it's a great airbnb with rustic vintage decor and located about 5 min away from everything! If you want to go the hotel route, I recommend Rivertown Lodge or The Maker.
